AROTC 4 year scholarships announced

That's not my intent at all. I'm quite over it now. I'm not pressed anymore. I'm simply impressed by all the amazing kids who got the scholarship is all. I'm sorry it came out wrong.
Good, because I am confident there are great things ahead of you! Hopefully we will all be celebrating with you on the next board,

Army boards are weird, even for promotions, schools and commands. You can put the exact same candidates before two complete different sets of board membership and get completely different results even with specific guidance and select objectives. Ride it out. Great things will happen!

Wait, I'm so confused... I didnt get one.. but I have like 3.8 UW GPA, 31 ACT, scores perfect 200 on MUN interview... I though I would've received something...

As others have said, don't worry yet, there are still two more boards.

Just a couple things:

Academics are just one part of the Whole Person Score, Academics/Athletics/Leadership. A 3.5 GPA and a 24 ACT will get you the same maximum points on your interview as a 4.0 and 31 ACT. Athletics and even more important, Leadership, is a large part of the equation. You will see applicants selected with much lower GPA and Test scores selected on the first board that had stellar Athletics and Leadership scores. It all comes down to a balance.

Another thing to consider is your school selections. Each school has a number of slots allotted for scholarships, both 4 and 3 year, if you listed highly competitive schools then it is most likely you will be competing with applicants that have similar or even better stats then you have. Cadet Command is not going to fill all the allotted slots on the first board so it often happens that applicants that feel they have stellar stats are not selected on the first board. This does not mean you will not have a good chance at receiving a scholarship on the second or third board.

This is why you will sometimes see applicants that have Academic stats less then yours receive a first board offer, they are applicants that have a very balanced application with over the top Athletics and Leadership, and are at the top of the applicant pool for a less competitive school.

You're still in the running for the next boards.
