AROTC 4 year scholarships announced

I am so bummed out right now

Right there with you, it's definitely been a tough day. We just have to remember that the first board is extremely selective and we still have two more chances. Good luck to you in the next boards!

Don't be bummed! This is the hardest board to get picked up on by far! I had limited hope for this board for my son but one still hopes. I feel much more confident about the next one even if it is a million years away. You'll be fine! Hang in there!

Congratulations to those who won, and best luck to those who are still waiting. There is literally no shame in still being boarded. To put it into perspective, the estimates are about 300-500 winners first board out of around 2500 total over all boards combined.

We're all in the same boat. Just hang tough!

Wait, I'm so confused... I didnt get one.. but I have like 3.8 UW GPA, 31 ACT, scores perfect 200 on MUN interview... I though I would've received something...

I remember last year, I understand your dismay, but there is a lot to still look forward to. It seems like it is a million years away, but it isn't. My daughter did not receive an offer until third board last year's so I completely understand. Hang in there, you are not alone!

Only about 10% of the scholarships were awarded so far so don't be confused, you are still in for consideration, there will be many more awarded on the next two boards.

Question: I know that we're able to upload additional documents as we wait for the next board but can we adjust our school preferences?

I believe you can until you receive an offer. If the portal does not allow it, then just email Cadt Command, I know one poster last year had to do that but was able to get them changed.

NO ONE SHOULD BE BUMMED (other than about about 5 minutes). If recent history is a guide, the Army will award more than 2000 4 and 3 year scholarship, and only between 200 - 300 are on the first board. Hang in there! Also, continue to develop Plan B, C, etc. If you're high enough caliber to be competitive for an AROTC scholarship, you'll be very competitive for the "civilian" scholarships you favorite universities offer....get the applications in for those! Most have a submission deadline which is fast approaching. This can help cover the costs if you get a 3 year AROTC schollie, and helps pass the time until the next release date :)

Congrats to all who received their scholarships!

Everyone else, you have to learn the military motto of "Hurry Up and Wait."

To put this in perspective, my DS has already received appointments to USAFA, USNA and USCGA and received a 4 year NROTC scholarship to an Ivy League University, and he DID NOT get picked by this board.

No worries, there are two more boards.

There is a reason for everything.

So, you guys are sure that all scholarship have been awarded? I just called the officer at the school which interviewed me and they said they were legitimately surprised I didn't receive one my last name starts with a W are you sure they don't do it by last name or something? If all scholarship have been awarded, I'll keep my hopes up for the second board

My portal changed and I got a call from my top school! Four-year to my three top choices! Can't believe I've come this far. I have to thank a lot of people on this forum who helped guide me throughout the process.

So I won the 4 year to my top three schools. My "highlights" are as follows
3.9 UW GPA
35 ACT
30th in the nation for my event in debate; team captain
Eagle Scout
Two-sport varsity athlete (lacrosse and cross country); lacrosse team captain
I did fine on the physical test: like 40 pushups, 45 situps, and 7:10 mile

Y'all have got this! Best of luck.

@nikkuwadde the portal upload is generally not done by last name. If you didn't receive notification, be patient and wait for the next board. Good luck.

My portal updated today to "Winner"! Soon after I was emailed by the ROO at my #2 school. I won 4-year scholarships to my top 3 schools.

Thank you so much to this forum and everyone who has helped me in this long process! You all are truly so helpful and I can't thank you enough.
