Hi all,

So I have been accepted for ROTC scholarships from both the Air Force and the Army. I am not totally sure which one I want to do. I would use my AF scholarship at Oregon State U. and I would use my Army scholarship at CU Boulder. I know that in the short term I can accept both scholarships but how long will this work? Can I put deposits in at both schools and make preparations for both programs, making a final decision later on in the summer? Can I keep both scholarships right up until I start attending classes at the school/branch I choose?

Well, you could do all of the above. You would lose at least one deposit and probably upset one of the schools you committed to. There's nothing very wrong in doing that, however why do yo need to drag your feet to make a decision. You don't have to put your deposit down until late April to meet a May 1 deadline. Accept both scholarship but use the the next month and more to make your decision. That's plenty of time to decide.

A ROTC program is only 4 years. You'll do at least 4 active and 4 reserve or IRR which is longer. Make your decision based on the service and the MOSs that you feel will be a good fit for you. The same thing with your major if that's the issue for you.

What will be your major and what do you want to do in the military?
