Perhaps my question is best ansewered by Fuji. How many 4 year AROTC scholarships are available each year for those interested in attending Mass Maritime for the "Academy" /military experience, but have a strong interest in AROTC? Just so you know, my son will be competing for an appointment to USMA Class of 2015 and is also looking at SMC's for AROTC (Norwich, NGCSU, VT and Citadel in particular).

Im a cadet at MMA. They dont have AFROTC on campus. I believe you have to travel to an off campus place for it.

This is a Fuji question for sure- I'm sure he can give you the contact information on this program.
I looked into this with my son a couple of years ago and talked to several cadets who were enrolled in AROTC at Mass Maritime - it sounded like they had a pretty good program. The AROTC option at Mass Maritime is a cross town arrangement with Boston University. I believe that the there is a retired O6 who teaches the MS1 &MS2s there at MMA and then I think that the MS3 &MS4 students travel- (could be wrong about that second part).

Bruno,

Sorry for the delay in responding. I forwarded your original question to the Academy's AROTC CO - Colonel Ty Dilliplane - and will post a response from him ASAP.
