AROTC Board News - Scholarship!!!

@Vista123
I only have Berkeley listed but I was told I was awarded a 4-year to other schools by their scholarship officer. So, I'm not quite sure what this means.. I guess we'll have to wait until the actual letter comes!

I remember reading that last year on the portal that only one was listed and it was alphabetical. That would fit for the Georgetown listed for my son and the Berkeley listed for you.

Oh that makes much more sense. My other choices are schools later in the alphabet . Congratulations with Georgetown!

Ahh, but we're brothers in arms....against the Yankees :shake:

Hey now you're talking!

And Vista, that doesn't make sense for me since VMI would be at the bottom alphabetically. Unless I only got it to VMI. Either way who cares!!!! Woo HOO!

Vista, I only had one school listed on my portal, too; and if it's being alphabetically listed then that makes sense for the school that I got. But, could this possibly mean that our official letters may have more than one school listed when it arrives?

Also, Congrats to your DS with Georgetown!! :thumb:

again, looking at last year, how it worked was the portal listed one (alphabetical) but the letter that arrived the following wk listed more than one for about 50% of the applicants. The other 50% received just the one option.

The year before that more than 50% received more than one option after the first board.

Its hard to base things on a historical perspective though in ROTC-Land.

Vista,
research junkie!

Great! Thank you so much for the information! Back to waiting for the letter...

Congrats everyone! DS had his #4 choice school listed, but it is also the first alphabetically. It is a private and the same cost as his #1 choice, also a private. #2 and 3 choices are in-state publics....so we are hoping for that #1 to come through!
Let us begin stalking the mailbox and hope they come through before Thanksgiving!

As I recall from last year only one school ever showed up on the website. The letter sometimes contained multiple schools.

Congrats to all the scholarship winners and thank you for alerting us to the change! I'm a little uncertain, though. Are these ALL 4 year scholarships? I ask because that's what the link address is (https://schlr4yr.usarmyrotc.com/scholarshipstatus/RetrieveStatus.asp) - or do we just know the name of the school, but not the extent of the scholarship???

I think the letter will let us know the full extent of the scholarship- what schools and how many years.

Congrats to all scholarship winner.
Hopeful for son for 2 board.
Info on schlr4yr.usarmyrotc.com/scho...tus/status says interview receive(he did his interview 2 months ago) but at the bottom it say you have been selected for an interview. Please contact the Professor of Military Science(will do when he gets home from school) at the school of your choice. Does anyone know if this means he needs to do a second interview? Did anyone else who didn't receive but checked site have the same message?

lisa - this message will continue to be there. He does not need a 2nd interview. Does the status on the dashboard after PMS interview say complete? That would mean that the PMS sent the form in.

lisa62ann, my sons portal says the same thing. He had his interview months ago and it is listed as received. Please keep us posted as to what the PMS has to say.

That's exactly what mine said until yesterday. As long as the interview part says "Received" you're good.

Thanks S & H and congrats to you on your win and 1st choice!
If anyone else knows for sure about how many years the scholarships are, please post. We're squirming here!
DD's scholarship is to Dickinson in PA. It was her first choice, but not first alphabetically, so maybe they post the highest choice that was actually awarded???

Congrats to all who received the "magic email". Bull is one of my favorite cadet posters - take his message to heart.

You're far too nice haha. If they only realized that the name Bull on this forum represents a longer, less appropriate word, they probably wouldn't listen to me.

I also should probably clarify, so I don't scare any of you off. Not all of you will do the tattoo and knee surgery thing, which I strongly advise to avoid as I've got a few of each and they just ain't that cool, but you will have to take care of your body. It's going to be a crazy fun ride, but it's not going to be easy. If it it was, everyone would do it. :thumb:
