I know there are quite a few posts on this forum asking the same questions, but I want to be active and gain as much information as possible before the first review board in October. As for my application, everything is completed including my PFA and PMS interview. Here are a few of my academic and athletic stats:

  • 3.9 GPA
  • 25 Composite ACT (Taking another Tuesday)
  • Multiple Honors and AP classes to include AP language and composition, Al 1 Honors, Biology Honors, Al 2 Honors, Pre-AP US history and world history honors
  • Group Commander and c/Lt. Colonel of my AFJROTC unit, held nearly every leadership position in the unit and currently working the deputy group commander position as well.
  • 3 years of varsity track and field- will be running this year.
  • 2 years of Marching Band (Freshman and Sophomore year)
  • 2 years of JV football
I know that not being in any academic honors societies or anything like that might hurt me, but if it helps I was in the Beta club my freshman year. Here are my PFA results:
  • 57 pushups
  • 51 sit-ups
  • 7:25 mile (Normally a 6:40 but I ran my MO NROTC fitness assessment the day before unfortunately)
I’m not sure if I should’ve ran it again before submitting, but I’m somewhat confident with my results. Below are some other random awards and achievements from JROTC and other volunteer activities:
  • Air Force Sergeants Association award
  • Air Force Association Leadership award (Given to 1 cadet in the rising senior class per state)
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars award
  • 50+ volunteer hours with my local VA
  • 90+ volunteer hours with JROTC
  • Cadet Leadership Camp training instructor
My top 3 colleges on my schools of intent are Texas A&M, Auburn, and The Citadel. Any input on my chances of getting a 3 or 4 year scholarship is very much wanted. Thanks.

It is very difficult to predict. Based on my experience with my DS last year, your stats look ok. Your ACT needs to improve significantly. Your leadership and volunteer activities look good. Your PMS interview and essays are also a critical part. My advice is to go read every single post by @Montana State Army ROTC. They will give you some great direction and information.

On another note - My DS's top 3 were Citadel, Texas A&M and Auburn. We visited all 3 and he is currently a knob at The Citadel on a NROTC-MO. He was also awarded a 4-yr AROTC on the 1st board. Good luck and welcome to the SA Forums.

Couple of suggestions to the OP.
1. Put your best application forward.
1a. Run daily for the next 28 days then after whatever body rest you need (24 hours etc.) take the PFT again. Your run time as reported is simply underwhelming and I think you know it can vastly improve. it's pretty high stakes here- maybe 200,000.00 and the next 10 years of your life - and if it doesn't work you can go the programmer route, but don't fail because you didn't try - don't phone in your best applications. Go for it- take it seriously. Results, not excuses.
1b.. Wait for your next AP scores as that too may help you from tomorrow's exam.
2. You have a clear military interest/ interest to serve. Focus on where you have been a scholar, an athlete, and a leader. How did you lead in AFJROTC unit. Articulate why this so important to you in your essays.
3. Confirm if your GPA as they want reported is weighted or unweighted. My sense is yours is weighted - just confirm which they will count and don't trip yourself up. If that's your unweighted GPA that's OUTSTANDING!
4, Consider schools for AFROTC that will accept a type 7 or convert it/ honor it as a 4 year type 2 (most don't a few will). Explore colleges you could use that at and not have huge debt. Because with your numbers I don't see a type 1 or Type 2 coming your way.
5. Consider your major choices and how hard it is to get a non-tech type 1 AFROTC scholarship. Do you have technical skills/ interest? Highlight that on your app if so.

Don't focus on statistics or let that psych you out - it can drive you bananas. Yes, in comparison to others you probably have less honors courses, less AP courses, less honor societies. every candidate has deficiencies - some aren't aware of them but nearly all of them do. So d*mn the torpedoes statistics and show them who you are, what your strengths are and again go for it and see where you land. And know if you don't get a scholarship there are still programmer ways to serve/ commission and compete for one at school.

If applying Navy consider Marine Option vs Navy option as the bar is lower on academic performance there. Again go for it - my son like you wasn't perfect in all areas and he got scholarship offers from all 3 - so can you. Go for it/ highlight your strengths - good luck!

if your interest is to serve with a scholarship, then apply to every ROTC option, not just one. See who wants you- be open minded.

Just noticed you are pursuing AROTC responses - not AFROTC. OK, disregard the stuff about type 1, 2, 7 please. Consider rest of guidance as you wish. Good luck.

Understood, I’ve read Montana States posts as you’ve advised and they helped tremendously. I’m aware my ACT needs to improve from 25 to around 28+, so I’m hoping I can achieve that tomorrow. The 25 was my first attempt. I’m really aiming for Texas A&M or the Citadel, but I hear Auburn is great as well. I’ll only be able to visit the Citadel and Auburn due to where I live, Texas is a ways away.
