I have my AROTC interview tomorrow and I was just wondering if it will b similar to my ALO, BGO, MLO, and nomination interviews?

Ok, since I didnt get an answer lol, I will tell you how it went. I have been busy all week I now finally have a chance.

We made it to Drexel around 12:45. There was a tour starting at 1. Since I was already accepted instead of going to watch this video I talked with a consulor. We talked about what I want to study some more unimportant things, but then he asked where else I was applying. I made it clear that SA's were my first choice and he was essatic, haha. He said he would rather see me at USAFA/USMA/USNA than here at Drexel :D so that was cool.

After that the real tour started. I liked the campus, nothing like USAFA or USNA. I havent been to USMA yet... >.< hopefully soon. I enjoyed it though.

Now the interview. We rang the bell to the armory and a 2nd luitenant greeted us. We talked while the PMS was getting ready. He would have been a 4th generation USMA/USNA but didnt want to apply, he wanted the "true college experience" he said. His grandmother will never forgive him he said. I told him the "true college experience" is not really what I want. He said then USAFA/USMA/USNA are for you then haha :D I was suprised that the interview just involved the PMS I thought I read somewhere that it was a three person board...? I did very well and the PMS told me he doesnt see a problem with me getting the scholarship and he also said that I have a decent shot at USMA and USMAPS. He then showed me pictures of Ranger challenge and if I go to Drexel on AROTC scholarship I will prob be doing it. He said its for the hoah cadets XD

Best part of the day though, I got a Tony Luke's cheesesteak XDD haha ok it wasnt the best part of the day but it sure was good!

What did you wear to your interview??? I have my AFROTC interview on Friday. Will a pair of slacks with a button shirt and a sweater suffice, or do I need to whip out the suit?

For anyone still wondering what to wear, I've read many things regarding what to wear and really all you need to do is wear professional clothes, look neat, and be well groomed. Wearing a nice sweater is just fine.

Why would anybody wear anything but a suit?

Yes, maybe they say all you have to do is look professional.

But by wearing a suit, you are placing yourself above all of the other candidates who decided to just look "professional" by wearing a sweater.

IMO, for ANY interview, one should wear a suit.

I have actually heard the opposite. I read someone recommend AGAINST wearing a suit. Something to the effect of it might come across kind of arrogant and that you're trying to just make yourself look good. This isn't necessarily my opinion, just thought I should bring it up. I only read that once, and I have had plenty of people say "wear a suit if you have one" also.

Not to act as if I know anything more than anyone else, everyone here is allowed an opinion and everyone wants the best for the Forum. When I did my interview, I didn't own a suit. Fortunately I didn't know any better so I wasn't MORE nervous (if that was even possible) and the interview went well enough.
I think this forum is EXCELLENT. Exposes everyone to current events and some experience from the experienced. For interviews, I would encourage you all to look good. If you look good in your suit, by all means wear it. If you think a suit adds some sort of points to the MALO, ALO, BGO, etc scorecard, please understand from the outset it does not.
You have to play the cards you're dealt. Do your best, one and all. You can't buy points, only earn them. To buy points, please consult the Ivy League.
Best of luck!
