Seeing how the January board for AROTC scholarships ended this week, here's a spot for the people who have been notified of acceptance to have themselves acknowledged. Please post how and when you were notified and to what school you plan to attend.

Also information as to what your scores were on PT, ASVAB, SAT etc. are optional but would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully Ill have some good news to post myself:smile:

so does this means no one's heard anything yet???? Because my status still just says i've been cleared for an interview...

Yes, from what I understand from reading some posts, the board finished yesterday (friday) and scholarship selectees should be notified sometime this upcoming week. Good luck! Let's cross our fingers!

My daughter received a scholarship in the last board round. The first indication was that the 4-year scholarship portal changed to indicate the next step was to contact DODMERB. That is a good sign. The next day, the changed and listed the schools offering a scholarship. The last step is receiving a letter from ROTC listing the schools and the TYPE of scholarshp recieved.

When you see the list of schools in the 4-year scholarship portal DO NOT assume each school is offering a 4-year scholarship. AROTC can offer both 4 and 3-year scholarships. You don't find out which type each school is offering until you get the letter.

I mention this because we assumed each school listed on the portal was offering a 4-year scholarship and it turned out one of the offers was for a 3-year advanced designee award. The latter covers sophmore-senior years, but not the freshman year. A 3-year AD is still a good scholarship and is an option some battalions are using this year due to tight budgets.

With that cautionary note concluded, I wish everyone waiting for the results of the January board the best of luck.

Thank you mariner116, that's very good to know. Did your daughter end up taking the 3-year or 4-year scholarship?

She took the 3-year AD because it was at her #1 school. We are still hoping to get it upgraded to a 4-year and the battalion wants to do that if they can find some extra $. One observation, the other folks I found in this situation all shared a common situation. The 3-year AD award was made to an out-of-state applicant where the cost of out-of-state tuition is about 3 times that of an in-state. Some PMSs seem to be facing a choice of giving out 3 in-state scholarships or 1 out-of-state. I suspect doing the 3-year AD for OOS might be a way a battalion can squeeze in one more in-state offer.

Do they contact you by mail or email?
My daughter received scholarship 1st Round. Initial notification was on the GoArmy scholarship site. Others find out first on the DoDMERB website, especially those that are SA applicants. No emails until much later from PMS's..at least for her. Letter came about a week after online was updated.

Well today was the first potential day when notifications would of been posted. I guess not receiving one and seeing no one else being notified is both nerve racking and comforting. Has everyone checked to see if they could have been automatically registered for DoDMERB?

If it follows like the other boards, Monday will be the first potential day when notification will be posted.
The board just finished on Friday. This will be the week where the OML scores from the applications from the last two boards and from this board will be looked at and the scholarships will be decided.

I got a full 4yr to Tulane from the first board. I may try and have it switched to Purdue.

Checked DoDMERB today. Still nothing. Hopefully we'll will recieve notification soon! Good luck PapaBear, I'll keep our fingers crossed for both of us.

Good luck ROTC Hopeful... I would think the DodMERB page would be updated tomorrow or Thursday, but that's just a guess.

Good luck to everyone as well! I think just the sheer amount of interest shown on these boards should be an automatic qualification for any scholarship. If only, If only...

Well while we wait for an oficaical decision, Lets all find out a little bit about each other.
Wheres everyone want to go?
What degree?
And What job are you looking at in the Army?

Army Scholarship

Am I supposed to be checking the DodMERB website? If so, can someone message me the name of it? Just checked the Army ROTC website. Still no change. I want to go to Oklahoma State University to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Probably will be a Vet with the Army. My stats are:
GPA: 3.94, ACT: 27, involved in TaeKwonDo and Violin, got the Congressional Gold Medal for public service, and everything is in my application in order. :thumb:
