My DD's AROTC unit was just notified by her PMS that any cadet that had not completed their APFT for the Spring Term was going to lose their scholarship for this term. The treasurer has already reversed the payment from the Army and we owe for the Spring 2020 term.
My DD is stuck in this situation because, during the first Record APFT, she was on a run profile from the infirmary and could only complete the Pushups and Situps. The AROTC at that time told her it was no problem, that she would simply need to complete the next record APFT and all would be fine. Unfortunately, the pandemic has closed the school and now the AROTC is unable to complete any APFT activity. So the PMS has advised that all individuals without a passing APFT completed during the Spring term (regardless of the reason) would be losing their scholarship.
Is this the only recourse? My DD has made it clear that the PMS was very succinct in his explanation and that he said he wished he " could just do an APFT for everyone to preserve the scholarships", but his "hands are tied."
Seems like a tough situation for my DD to have to deal with considering she didn't fail the APFT, but rather had a profile and was scheduled for the next record APFT....that never happened.
Any suggestions from the group????
