Just got word from my HR person at school and apparently nurses will not be attending CST after their sophmore year, they will go when everyone else goes.

USN,
my DS was awarded the Army scholarship for nursing. He will be a freshman this year. What training do nursing cadets take each summer. What is the usual sequence?

ginko...keep in mind that the post is specifically about AROTC nurses. I'm sure the Navy does things totally different, as do the various university programs. My daughter graduated in 2012 and nurses were doing all the same training as everybody else PLUS nursing requirements for the school. With my daughter, they were still running LDAC rather than CLC and nurse cadets had to go at the end of their sophomore year because they had other nursing obligations the summer after their junior year. Not sure what has changed with CLC replacing LDAC.

Ginko,
As of now (things might change) a nursing cadet will go through the normal course of training as the other cadets do. Your son will go to CIET his summer going into MSIII year, and CLC his summer going into MSIV. He can still compete for other summer training ie. CULP, Airborne, Air Assualt, but the big one for nurses is the nurse summer training program which I believe takes place summer going into MSIV year.

Is there training going into the MSI I year? Can he compete for air assault then?

...there are two trainings going into MSIV? CLC and NSTP?

Exactly...which is why at my daughters school, nurses had to go to LDAC (now CLC) after their MS-II year because they had NSTP but a summer program required by the school so there was no way they could do all three.
