My DD received a AROTC nursing scholarship and will be using it at a school that does not have a direct entry into the nursing program. Students apply to the nursing school at the end of their freshman year. If DD is not accepted into the nursing program what happens to the scholarship? Will it be forfeited? Will she be allowed to change her major and keep the scholarship. Competitive program and wanting to be fully informed. Thanks

She’ll have to move schools. Ask the ROTC program if they have some sort of deal with the college of nursing. For example, we have a deal for guaranteed upper division seats for our cadets.

With a ROTC Scholarship of 3 or 4 years, it might be worth her applying to some schools with direct admission. Some of them still have openings.
