I am seeing a number of people announce that they've won scholarships. Mine is still in Boarded/Under Consideration... but it now reads "This applicant's packet has been reviewed and scored by either The OCT 17 or JAN 18 Selection Boards, but were not selected. These applicant remain eligible for our final Selection Board scheduled to convene 19 MAR 18."

Is this to be trusted? Is the board done reviewing and uploading winners for the second board? I thought it was supposed to take 10-14 days... I don't want to believe this :/

Also, does anyone know if once selection status changes, you are supposed to get an email regarding this? Or do I need to consistently check up on my portal? Thanks.

I am on the same boat. I don't think we won the scholarship this round. I remain optimistic for the next round and so should you. With that said, did you by any chance win a scholarship for military junior college?

No emails received when the status changes. We just checked the portal regularly.

For the past few years Cadet Command has released all the updates at once in a single blast, seems to be the case again for this board. You have most likely been rolled to the 3rd Board.

They did seem to get things out faster for this board, probably trying to beat another possible government shutdown. They take the time to upload all the notifications and then they release them at one time, they don't trickle them out over a period of time.

My DS did not receive a portal update email. He saw the change in the portal and received an email from his #1 school the next morning.

Does anyone know the approximate % of scholarships awarded with each of the 3 AROTC Boards? % Oct? % Jan? % Final Mar? My DS was boarded in Jan, but now seems to be on wait list...

Yes, the selections for the second board are compete. The number of scholarships awarded from this board has not been published. The first board typically awards about 300 scholarships, around 700 on the second board, the remaining on the final board.

I would take it as it reads. Your file has been reviewed and scored but you werent selected for a scholarship right now. Your file will be included in the next round which it says occur Mar 19. I wish you luck
