When applying for an AROTC scholarship will they superscore the SAT? I found one source that says they do, but I’m not seeing it on the ROTC scholarship website. Thanks!

Thanks. Any idea where I can get confirmation on this? My son did pretty well on the English and bombed the math. Superscore will be very helpful if he can just focus on math for the second attempt.

The magic 8 ball says so. And potentially somewhere on the website

google
“army rotc scholarships superscore act”
First hit is a banned member who is a consultant that while questionable does have good info. But not sure why you would trust him over us though.

Don't just focus on math for the second attempt; focus on studying math to prepare for your second attempt. Some places don't super-score and also you would your son could happen to do better on the English section than on his first attempt. Tell him to give every question and every section his very best shot.

I did find that consultant website, but wasn’t sure how reliable that is.

He definitely needs to focus on refreshing on math that he has already learned. I feel that with the appropriate prep he will do much better on his 2nd attempt for math. We are enlisting the help of a tutor to focus on skills and strategy. I’m hoping with some additional work on his own he can do as well or better on English next time. Also it might be his last shot at the SAT essay.

I would recommend doing Khan Academy practice. I did that and I felt a whole lot more confident and did better on the SAT after doing those.

I do not believe in tutors for the SAT. However, I do recommend SAT Prep Black Book: The Most Effective SAT Strategies Ever Published by Mike Barrett.

The SAT is a tricky and weird test and simply, the SAT tests you on how well you master the SAT. In my opinion, the SAT Black Book is the best tool. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Just to add on. Both of my DSs did it, but sign up for the practice test we used Applerouth. It helped my oldest alot. The company offered the test online. They would receive the test material in the mail like a week before the exam. The test was timed and proctored. They didnt have the answer sheets. You sent it back in to be graded. They do like most and recycle old exams that aren't being used anymore.

I know my oldest jumped from about a 29 to 34 on the ACT and SAT was a good jump as well. I promise you they will fill your inbox on how they can improve your child's scores. Let me them. You can just so no.

Here is a free test https://www.applerouth.com/testdrive/#winter-body

My DD used the Princeton Review test prep books for both the SAT and ACT. They are full of practice tests both paper-pencil and online, as well as test taking tips. I would say that they are helpful and well worth the $70 total we spent.
