I know it's the time of year when there are a decent amount of these, but I just want a second (or third or fourth) opinion on how likely I am to get a scholarship.
  • I'm a girl
  • Going into Pre-med
  • 9-12 GPA: 3.8
  • SAT: 1260 (640 Writting/ grammar, 620 math)
  • Letters: Marching Band/Color Guard, Academic
  • Honor roll since freshman year
  • Did softball ( jv) freshman year
  • PFT: 8.01 mile, 17 Push ups, 33 sit ups
  • Girl scout silver award
  • Marching band initiative and leadership award
  • Church volunteer/kids leader
  • Have taken every health science class at my school
  • Former club president
  • Former club treasurer
  • Was told during my PMS interview " That's it, you're coming to [school name] and becoming an Army doctor. I'm adding that to the additional notes section right now" "You did great with everything I was looking for"
I know my physical side is weaker, but I'm just another senior who is worrying and probably over thinking this and needs to hear from people other than my overly-encouraging parents.

First of all congratulations to you for wanting to serve your country, and for making GS Silver.
  • Your chances may be affected by how much demand for AROTC cadets there are at the colleges you're applying to.
  • You are correct that you are over thinking this. No one knows here if you will get the scholarship or not, but you gotta apply!
  • PMS positive commentary is good, but remember they are also interested in getting you fired up to join their battalion.
  • Try to take the SAT again and boost the score. Hitting a 700 on either one would be a help.
  • The leadership roles (president and treasurer) are positives.
  • You will have to knock it out of the park (top grades and high MCAT) and get accepted to a medical school when graduating college in order to get an educational delay. So be prepared to be a regular line officer if you don't get into a medical school.
Good luck to you!
