My DS was awarded a 4-Year AROTC Scholarship during the 1st Board in Dec. Will he receive direction from his selected school (The Citadel) or from Cadet Command regarding starting the DODMERB process?

Thanks in advance.

He should receive an email from DODMETS that allows him to start the process.
Check your spam folder. My DoDMERB portal recently updated to show that AROTC had requested my DoDMERB results.

Thank you @WD1 -

I was wondering the same thing. It has almost been a month since my daughter received her scholarship and no word from dodmerb. I have started to worry that we have missed something. So she will get notification on the portal and not in snail mail?

I would call his ROTC Command and ask. I think it unusual for a candidate to complete their application, be Boarded, get a scholarship and never be notified of medical. As @WD1 alludes to, a lot of times the initial DoDMETS email ends up in a "spam" box and some email servers delete spam after a period of time. You should be fine for time, unless you anticipate needing a waiver, as the scholarship doesn't start till whenever either training or school starts and the normal time to pass thru DoDMERB is usually about a month.

As for notification on a candidates ROTC Portal...probably not until medically qualified by DoDMERB, candidates need to create a user profile on DoDMETS to start the process, but need that initial email telling them to do it. If the candidate already has an account on DoDMERB then that is where the first notification of status medically will appear.

@Melmr - My DS, based on the information above, went to the DODMETS website, entered his SSN and his account was active. Email was most likely in his spam folder as was suggested above.

If the applicant sends me an email to DoDMERB_saforums@yahoo.com, I can assist.
