I was wondering if some current ROTC scholarship holders could post information regarding what school they are attending on the scholarship, and what grades/sat/extracurriculars you had when applying for the scholarship. Thanks!!

This really won't give you any indication of whether you will receive a scholarship. Whatever anybody gives you will be from previous years, each year is different considering the Military downsizing and restructure.

There are too many factors that go into the selection process to make any real comparison.

I would also add, that knowing the historical data for your school selections, may give you a positive feeling or a negative feeling, but you are missing a portion of the equation. Last years pool of applicants may be different than this years pool.

Additionally, due to sequestration and personnel cuts, they may change how many scholarships are awarded or the type. For example, maybe this year they will give out more three year than compared to previous years due to budget constraints.

Finally, just knowing the stats of their academic record, and ECS misses 25% of the points. The PMS interview. There could be a recipient that got max points out of the interview while having the exact same stats as you, but you OTOH got 275.
~ Compile this with you are OOS and they are IS can mean the difference in results for a scholarship to that school.

They best thing for you to do is: to find the schools you are considering attending - and those with the ROTC programs, have a chat with their cadre (particularly the recruiting officer)- they are the ones that can give you direct answers to your questions.

Most of us here, all we can do is speculate.

4 year Army scholarship, to the Virginia Military Institute.

I had a 3.83 GPA, 29 ACT, dual enrollment credits, officer in National Honor Society, two years Varsity sport. and several other community service/extracurriculars. It varies from year to year, but in general I'd recommending contacting the ROO at schools you're interested in.

Armydad - how has your DD already received a scholarship, since the board only began meeting yesterday? Was this last year?

The question was "current" scholarship holders, so that should answer your question.

In another thread he indicated she was just awarded the scholarship, was wondering about the possibility of an upgrade to a 3.5 year, and wanted to know how to find out her board score. Sounds to me like a new award, hence my curiosity. But, I'm fully prepared to say I misinterpreted his statements.

Based on the first post from Armydad88

My daughter was awarded a 3 Year Army ROTC scholarship. Two questions: (1) she has been told that she may get an upgrade to a 3 1/2 or 4 year scholarship, but won't hear until November. What are the chances of this happening?
(2) I'm finding very minimal information on what opportuntities are available to her during the summers, specifically, language schools or opportunities to travel and engage in some relevant training. Is there anywhere to find this type of information? Thanks in advance for your replies.

It leads me to believe his DD was awarded a 3 year scholarship in 2014 for the 2015-16 Fall term ( the first year 2014-2015 is her freshman year and not covered by AROTC). He was inquiring about the possibility of her getting her scholarship upgraded in November 2014. Confused yet??? Not a new award so not boarded this year.
