I just visited my AROTC application status and saw the portal highlight says

"Boarded: This applicant’s packet has been reviewed by a board of PMS’s. An applicant’s file will only be boarded once. After boarding, each applicant’s file is scored and placed on an Order of Merit List (OML) in numerical order from which winners will be selected."

Does it mean I already have been reviewed by a board but didn't get selected? If so then I have no more chance since the applicant's file will only be boarded once. Please help me to understand this status statement.
Thank you very much!

Batman - from what others have said, subsequent boards go down the Order of Merit list and award scholarships. So it means that you were reviewed and ranked. Say your score puts you at number 10 on the list (you scored 10th highest) - you will be the 10th person to be offered a scholarship from the next board.
New applicants will also be reviewed by the board and put into this list based on their score. So if someone with higher qualifications than you comes along....you could slip in the rankings.
Somehow I am sure that the schools you listed come into play here....

Thanks Soccmomer. I understand my current status now. Also, I just received the admission acceptance letter from my #1 school choice. Do you think the school have voice at this point?

No, the Army kind of just assumes that you'll get accepted to the schools you listed. The school/ROTC department doesn't really have any pull as far as we on this forum know.

Certainly the school has no pull with ROTC.

Sometimes, the ROTC cadre will have pull with the school. My (soon to be) cadre at the University of Tennessee was able to push the admissions office to consider my application sooner. When I found out about my ROTC Scholarship- I needed to know if I would be accepted or if I would receive any other scholarship from the University. I contacted Mr. Dalton, the recruiting officer, and asked if there was any way I could get that information if a decision had already been made. Within 3 hours I had an email from the head of admissions telling me that I was awarded a $10,000 scholarship per year from the University.

My point is that the ROTC could have influence on the University, but I don't think the University would have any pull with ROTC. They certainly wouldn't have any with Cadet Command.
