AROTC Second Board, Boarded?

My son got into the website today. The notice to check the board was just saying that their servers were down and nothing could be sent by email.

Has anyone else’s status changed to Boarded/Under Consideration? Does anyone know if this means that I just need to wait or that I’ll be considered again during the third board? I figured the first when I saw the change. However, the description when I scroll down says I was boarded but not selected and will have an opportunity in a remaining board.
My son's says the same thing

Its probably for applications that are under review for the week that the board meets. It may change back once the jan board is over and will go back to boarded.

As of 2/5/18 at 1400 yes. Status is "Boarded"
Today my daughter was notified via email from one of her chosen schools that she was a winner. So decisions have been made for the second board.

DD received an AFROTC scholarship today, No notifications from the three senior military colleges she was accepted to. We now await news from AROTC. Thanks

My DD’s status changed to “Boarded” as well today and her #1 school of preference also called up and said that they want her to do ROTC with them. Does that mean that she was a winner as well? I’m just curious.

Battalions are told not to notify any applicants prior to the official notice being posted, some don't live by that rule. The reason is that nothing is official and changes can happen before the official notice. Don't hold a lot of stock in these emails until she sees an official change to her status page, hearts have been broken before.

Sound advice

My sons status has changed back to Boarded. I am hoping it is not a bad sign. He is pretty bummed about it.

My son has the same update, but got phone call from the battalion that he got the 3 year. Tell him to chin up and have patience.

So it seems that those who have been moved back to 'Boarded' were selected as winners this round...???

Why would you think that? That system has been all over the place in the last few months. I wouldn't read anything into it until you get confirmation.

With all the changes that have been going on with the way Cadet Command has been updating the status pages, I wouldn't assume anything until the official results have been posted which is still most likely a week away.

While it appears some have received a phone call stating they received a scholarship, be aware that these ROO's are told specifically not to make these phone calls until the official results are posted, things can still change and hearts have been broken in the past, this is why they're told not to make these calls.

So if your waiting and thinking you have not received a scholarship because nobody has contacted you, don't worry, most of the ROOs out there abide by the rules. The ones that don't are simply trying to recruit an applicant before others, they end up just causing undue stress for those that are waiting.

Every year there is this same stress level on this board from those waiting for the results, rumors fly and everyone dissects everything Cadet Command does or changes on the status page, thinking that each change means they are no longer getting a scholarship. The department in Cadet Command that handles all this update and awards to the status page is much smaller then you might think, it takes time to upload everything and go through the numbers. The process is not nearly as cryptic as it sometimes seems.

It's barely been a week into what the ROOs have said will take at least two weeks to complete. Best advice....don't read too much into any changes you see on the status page until the official results are posted. Don't think because you haven't received a phone call from one of your school choices that you are out of the running, these ROOs are breaking the rules that the majority follow. It's a pretty simple process, if you've been boarded you're on the OML, Cadet Command will take the scholarship winners from the OML, those that don't make the cut this board will roll over to the next. There is very little mystery to it. Remember, the majority of the scholarships come from the second and third boards.

I agree with above. The stress level is horrible for us parents and the kids. I know my son is worried as many of his friends are accepting places at the moment and he has no clue where he is going. Yes, he has had a few acceptances, and very nice scholarships. His ROTC officer said to wait another week.
