I'd also be curious whether USNA is usually that far ahead in numbers, and whether that reflects more overall applicants to USNA than anywhere else or just their new and improved online application system vis-a-vis the others.

These are typical numbers except for the USNA. They are having some IT issues which caused delays in downloads and then a better of culling of the names (e.g. - all Academy Presp schools don't need to go thru the DoDMERB process again when they are already IN the Prep Schools. Those names were included in the USNA download. They are working diligently to rectify the issue).
