Ask a Fourth Class.

  • Gold Star = 3.15 or higher GPA (Dean's List)
  • Blue Star = 270 or higher PFE
  • Silver Star = Exceptional Military Performance (Commandant's List)
  • Bronze Star = Raising GPA .50 or more from previous semester (Regimental Commander's List)

as far as cell phones go ive found that the type of phone matters more than type of service. I have AT&T and a RAZR and got reception in a quad (courtyard) facing room which is where the reception is the worst.

few other questions:

1. Well back to the sleep issue. LITS, you said you get less sleep in the fleet? like how many hours per night/day do you get while at sea? How many hours during academy?

2. Company wise, i know each company has specific duties that they have to do, are any of them like just blah and no fun? are some fun? i heard that alfa company gets to organize intercompany sports?

3. When i visited the academy a couple summers ago they had some re-modeling going on for new living quarters. Are those done? what other re-models are going on.

4. If you can t answer this its fine, is the indoor track a full 1/4 mile or only like a 1/6?

1. I think, probably about 5 hours a night, sometimes 4 depending on workload.

2. Someone there now can answer that, but Alfa had the physical stuff while I was there.

3. The new annex should be done, not sure where they are in other annexes though.

4. 13.5 laps was 1.5 miles...so it's a little off.

The Chase Hall annex has been completed for some time, cadets and swabs have been living there since last July.

The remodeling of the basement in Leamy Hall is close to completion.

Your company duties will vary during your time in New London. You will be assigned to one company for Swab Summer, then switch companies for your 4/c year. You will then switch once again to begin your 3/c year, and you will stay in that company until you graduate.

Alfa Company (Alligators): Regimental Health and Well-Being
Bravo Company (Bulls): Regimental Training
Charlie Company (Cobras): Regimental Honor
Delta Company (Dogs): Regimental Drills and Ceremonies
Echo Company (Eagles): Regimental Public Affairs and Transportation
Foxtrot Company (Flounders): Regimental Operations
Golf Company (Gophers): Regimental Comptroller
Hotel Company (Hellions): Regimental Morale

what did the remodle do for it? or is it just to make it look better

Just got back from the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Leamy Hall Student Union...all the new spaces look really nice, which is good since $1.1 million was spent. Virtually all offices, throughout the building, were remodeled, but the addition of a "lounge/game room" between Dry Dock and the bowling alley is the big improvement. According to the Superintendent's remarks, use of that space will be reserved only for Cadets and Officer Candidates.

Running Light

Other than Command names and dates, does much of the Indoc, Spewage and other related information in Running Light change from year to year?

Eagle

During swab summer......do swabs report to the eagle by company or by random selection?

Wisdom Teeth

Thanks LIS and Boss:thumb:

I remember reading something about wisdom teeth...anyone know if there removal is required? Would it simply be best to get them done prior to swab summer even though they are not a problem at present?

It is by company....usually ABC go first, then DEF, then GH.

And even then, it can be split up. If you are in Alfa and perhaps have an injury when it is your time to sail, you could be delayed and go to Eagle with Foxtrot. Or maybe not at all. Some companies were split up due to seats not being available (for flights to CA).

Last year, getting to California was an adventure for the class of 2012. Some went via commercial air, some went via military C-130's. Some arrived early, some arrived after the Eagle had left the pier (they were taken out via small boats to the already-underway Eagle).

Shouldn't have those transportation issues this year as the Swab cruises will be off the Northeast Coast of the US.

Not required if not necessary.

You WILL have to submit bite-wing dental X-rays taken after Jan 1 2009 for the medical staff to review. They will let you know if you need to have it done before you arrive.

Thanks Luigi.

Will they let us know when we need to submit those x-rays?

Will there be any additional physicals or medical exams required prior to reporting.....other than DODMERB?

Amtrak

After swab summer......will 4/c be eligible for military discounts with Amtrak.

How close is the station to the academy? What is the best way to get back and forth from the Academy?
