Asthma Question and stupid mistakes

Hello,
It has always been my life long dream to go to West Point. I have just recently remembered something that may hinder me from passing the medical exam. When I was around nine (probably younger), a few of my friends had asthma. I thought their inhalers were the coolest thing (I had never seen one before). So the next time I went to the doctor I told them that I had a hard time breathing when I exercise(I didn't). They gave me a inhaler (it was all yellow). I only used it once and never used it again. Will this stupid mistake that I made when I was younger prevent me from passing my medical exams? I am extremely worried.

Thank You,
AM

It never is a good feeling when something you did at a young age comes back to bite you later on. Your fake asthma issue shouldn't raise any red flags provided that you were younger than the age of 12. If anything, you might have to do a bit of explaining to the physician who administers your physical, and the DoDMERB people might have a few questions. Besides that, I would not anticipate this being any real deterrence in your ultimate goal, just a small and manageable obstacle.

Your doctor prescribed an inhaler to you, but did he/she ever diagnose you with asthma? Were you ever prescribed another inhaler? I don't see this as a problem. Just answer the questionnaire truthfully; if you have to do a remedial (paperwork or additional testing), you should pass with flying colors unless you actually have asthma.

Wait a minute....

Is this Bill Clinton on the forum?

You should be okay. My ds was medically disqualified for asthma. We went thru vigorous testing and he ended up with a waiver.
