Just downloaded the Graduation Brochure pdf from the AFA website & it describes the attire to be worn to Falcon Stadium for the Graduation ceremony as follows:

Ladies: Slacks, Skirt or Dress
Gentlemen: Business Suit or Coat and tie.

I was under the impression that due to the outdoor seating in the stadium as well as the length of the ceremony, the dress for guests was more of a "casual but neat". So for men; khaki pants, open collar shirt, for women: Capri pants, blouse, comfortable shoes... I searched the USAFA forum to no avail. I want to advise my relatives & I know that the pdf is the official source, but would like some input from others who have been there. Thanks

Semi formal suggested, but you'll see everthing from suits to overalls.

Never been and not going... but I'd at least go with the tie and jacket. One can remove them if it's too hot or something.

The stadium ceremony was the most difficult 'dress' situation. Last year was brutally hot (ok, at least it felt that way inside the stadium and it didn't snow, so...). My DH wore a suit jacket and tie and regretted it. The jacket and tie were off almost immediately. It was easier for women since we have a variety of options. I'd go with business casual or Sunday-nice for both men and women. If possible, hats with wide brims that don't obstruct the view of those behind you. A SMALL umbrella works too, if you're polite about not obstructing your neighbors views, but your arms will get tired! Most of my crowd had baseball type hats, which were great for the face, but shoulders, necks and ears were sunburnt. Every member of your party should have the allowed sunscreen and make sure they use it! It's a great experience, hope the weather is reasonable, and Congratulations :)

and remember you will take pictures afterwards with your new 2LT so think about what you want to be looking like when they are in their parade dress.
As ParkMom said, dress for the weather -- it hailed for a few minutes at DS's graduation. Comfy dress works well for women; guys khaki's, button shirts with optional tie, or polo shirt
Enjoy!

It's a long walk from the parking lot to the parade ground unless you catch a bus so dress comfortably. In 2015 most of the dads were wearing polos and khakis. Remember the altitude and the thin air. I got sunburned.

I attended a few years ago. Agree with all comments: you will see all mix of dress but very few men in coat/tie or suits. Khaki's and polo or dress shirt was the norm. Heed the warnings about hats and sunscreen - sitting in the stadium in the strong sunlight was brutal.

My DH wore dress slacks, business shirt, tie, and took his jacket - but it really warmed up and the jacket never came on. I think he had a "Proud 2012 Dad" hat too.

I *fashionista that I am* (NOT!) wore a skirt/blouse/jacket with FLAT shoes. Lots of walking and standing so keep that in mind. Daughters and accompanying girlfriends wore lovely spring dresses with lightweight sweaters and flats.

The family behind us all had the same polo style shirts on with "Joe Graduate! 2012!" embroidered on it. I thought that was pretty neat. I think the men wore khakis but don't recall what the women wore.

The ppl in the seats in front of us had on Sunday best dress, beside us: jeans & open collar shirts.

Thanks to all!

Just remember - the weather could include snow or 85 degrees and sometimes both - layer and be prepared for about anything. It snowed at my sister's graduation parade and the next day it was sunny and 80 at graduation.

Have been to ~10.....polo and khakis are prevalent, but you will see sport coats, dresses/skirts
- Weather can be sunny, 80s or cool and 40s....(check as it gets closer!)
