We just got notification Aug 29th SAT has been canceled for our entire school district. Does anybody know where, on the eastern seaboard, this test can be taken in August?

still openings in eastern PA... just signed DD up for Sept 26 while verifing the Aug 29 was still a go (she may have a band/cheer conflict if the football game isn’t moved to the 28th tho the Athletic Director assures me it will be provided there IS football)

I still think Wolf will cancel all Fall sports.

Just curious, are the schools hosting the test opening in the fall for students or virtual?

OP, my son is in a similar boat. He has now had 3 SAT tests and 2 ACT tests cancelled. Our area has not offered the SAT since December of 2019. I kept googling zip codes and entering them. I found a private school that still had seats for the August 29 test that was 3 states away. I'm really sorry that the Class of 2021 is having to go through this. If you have flexibility, I'd look for the nearest private school testing site that you can find as these are more likely to stay open. Also look at ACT registration. We know the SAT to be a better test for my son, score-wise, but are hedging our bets that if we register for enough tests/sites, something will stick.

Yup, DD has Aug 29 SAT, Sept 26 SAT, Sept 19 ACT and Oct 17 ACT scheduled with the hopes that at least 1 pans out... 3 different locations.....everything since March in PA has been cancelled.

Same here. Multiple cancellations. My DS has at least taken the test. However we were unaware that USMA required the writing portion. Been trying all year to get that knocked out with no luck. Now with ACT.org having “upgraded” their system I cant even access the site!! I have received no email or text from them for the migration to the new system (yes I checked spam/junk folder) and you cannot speak to anyone because of “high call volume”. My email response from them (after 4 days) was to provide a link to a blog and YouTube video that has nothing to do with my account issue. So not only can I not roll over the test date to Sept, we can’t even access or order his previous scores for college applications! Complete train wreck!

I wouldn’t panic if you can’t fulfill the standardized test score requirements at the moment. I’m in the same position. Service academies understand everyone is dealing with this.

Sorry to hear of this. I feel like an SAT/ACT administration/taking is one of the few things that are really controlled and can be done with all the rules in place of social distancing (when checking in and test taking), extra cleaning, masks, etc. Might need more classrooms to spread everyone out, but that should not be a problem. Hopefully everyone can get them taken this fall. Keep practicing and if you have the means, I recommend a tutor to work on weak areas. Good luck!
