We continue to wait on my DD’s medical waiver decision from USMA. Received LOA in December, a week later got the DQ. Submitted AMI Feb 3rd and has been under waiver review until a week ago then changed to under DODMERB review. We are crossing fingers tightly and have tentative Plans B, C & D. 🤞 Anyone else sitting on the edge of their seats?

Yes, the waiting is not fun. But it might be a conditioning for life in the military - learning to wait.

My DS is also waiting and had his plan B,C,D…… Recently got his plan B offered and very good offer from AFROTC.We are not as stressed and will be totally good with plan B. Still hopeful to hear from USMA. Just hang in there and best of luck to anyone who is still waiting!!! Just a little bit longer to practice our waiting patience.

You have probably already done this, but make sure she's staying in touch with the Admissions Officer. My DS had an LOA and was DQ'd. He never received a request for AMI and was just in limbo. Then he reached out to DODMERB and copied his Admissions Officer. The AO replied back immediately saying he had been tracking it and the waiver had been approved but it would take a few days to update in the portal. We are convinced the AO just let it slip a little (I know they are busy and this AO is generally on top of EVERYTHING) and the email gave him the nudge to press the button and have it reflect in the file. It may just be our experience, but wanted to throw that out there.

Yes she has reached out to check if everything had been received and the status. The reply was that all was received and is being reviewed. And…..we wait. These next several weeks are going to feel like a slowwww roll.

Yep and I feel like this patience is on an extra slow roll. 🤞😆

No. That would be silly. Just wait like everyone else. Why advertise? It will be a long month but a lot of people are still waiting. For hope you can look at all of the appointments that are declined. They will be given to someone else.

Do not feel like you are alone. Yes, it becomes harder to wait as April starts to progress. You are Schroedinger’s Candidate….Keep faith.

Also, one of my kids did not receive his appointment until like 24 or 27 April...seriously. As April wore on, we could not even talk about it but we both felt sick. He headed to Rome on a school pilgrimage & I suggested hitting his knees at the Vatican for a resolution to this USMA appointment dilemma. He has completed his packet in January and heard nothing. (His older brother had an LOA in early September of his senior year, just for comparison.) While the Baby was flying back from Rome, we received the BFE...sitting by the front door in the rain (too big for the mail box).

However, that was a Saturday. On Monday morning there was a TWE from USMA in the mailbox. I wanted to vomit. However, it turned out just to be a letter to 'hurry up and make a decision.'

So, you won't know until you know--and there are not any magical hints along the way.

It is very hard to wait..and it will get a little harder by mid-April. Make a plan that is awesome...and then see what happens. (The Baby's plan was USAFA, he had accepted an appointment before it expired...) So for your kid...accept the best options and then he or she can decide from a position of power. Best wishes. Keep Faith.
