Awaiting medical waiver, second AMI request, is this bad?

In the initial medical questionnaire, DS mentioned both his wrist fracture (2017) and tibial stress fracture (2018). Weirdly enough, in January, we were only asked to provide AMI about the wrist fracture. My instinct was to send the records for both, but then logic said 1) maybe the wrist fracture seemed more important since he wore a cast and 2) if they don't ask for the info, don't muddy the waters with more. We were thrilled he got an LOA in February provided a medical waiver was obtained. Yesterday, we received a new message saying the waiver process was temporarily deferred, and that the waiver authority needed AMI about the stress fracture in his tibia, and that it would be resumed after they had the medical records. (It sounds like DodMerb only caught the wrist fracture, while the medical waiver authority realized he had a tibial stress fracture.) Now we have to supply the same type of medical records as we did before, and it will probably take another month before we hear. Any idea if the fact that he has had two fractures might make it less likely to get a waiver? And should I have just sent the information earlier like I thought so that we would know by now instead of delaying the decision? So frustrating!

We had to go through 2 rounds of AMIs. One piece of advice is that it seemed to process quicker when she scanned and emailed the AMIs as opposed to snail mail.

My daughter also called and then corresponded with her direct contact (assigned alphabetically by last name). That sped things up a little.

My DD did get the waiver after second round of AMIs and had an LOA so she is now appointed.
Best of Luck!

As @mara says. Scan all reports and Email to DS DoDMERB "direct Email address". Next, I would also mail to his USNA Application Officer, and have him or her forward over to the Medical Liaison at the USNA, if you are not concerned about any PPI (privacy tidbits).

Next, the Medical Liaison has a FAX #. Call them. The # ends in ...1817 or 1819 …. Then send snail mail to Medical Liaison.

All these routes show that he is Serious. (Maybe overboard, but it is Musical Chairs).
