Ok ok I admit it. Maybe I'm not in as good of shape as I thought I was.

I took a practice PFA last week here were my scores:

Pushups- 25
Situps- 38
1 mile- 7:30

I know these aren't the best scores. Would it be worth it to take the PFA later? I scheduled mine with my lacrosse coach for November 15th.

Any advice is helpful :)

(By later I still mean before the first board on December 2)

I would say keep training. Our DS did his for NROTC before 1st boards. His pushups were 61, maxed situps at 95 and mile in 6:19. If you can do any better you definitely should keep training.
Our DS did his 1st test in August. He wasn't happy with the results. Changed his diet and increased hydration and vitamins, kept training. Cut a minute off of his mile and improved the other scores. You can do this!!!!

I would definitely keep training. Those aren't good scores and you can dramatically improve them in 4 weeks if you really work at it.

In order to get better just make sure you are constantly training and utilizing the best form. On the pushups, make sure you keep your head up and forward to be able to get your chest lower to the floor and break 90 degrees.

Don't Give up the Ship!

How would 33 pushups, 47 situps and 6:14 mile look for AROTC? Asking for a friend...
If all else was a very good package, would this get it done for AROTC?

There is a chart out there which I can't find anymore when I tried to google it briefly - that shows the scoring points for the Army ROTC PFA. We used it to see how my son did before submitting. It didn't seem as difficult to max out for Army as it did for Navy if I remember right.

I read a Reddit post where someone said they emailed Cadet Command for a scoring chart and received it... seems kinda far fetched. Do you think it’s worth a shot? I don’t wanna overstep

Alright, here's an update

First off thanks to @HB2019 for the pushup tips it helped tons!

I took a practice PFA again today, and here's my scores

Pushups- 30
Situps- 44
Mile- 6:34

Yes, I DID cut my mile time down by almost a minute. I haven't run in forever, so once I got back into my groove it was a lot smoother.

Any advice on these scores? Is it worth it to improve them?

Those push ups can use some work. It takes time to get your interview done and even more time for the interviewer to do everything on their end so if you are trying to make a certain board I’d say just move on and explain in the interview how you are taking steps to improve those push ups. If you aren’t on any strict timeline I’d say spend a solid month improving push ups!

It's a competition. It always makes sense to improve your scores.

Work on those pushups. It’s something in your control
