Bad semester of college/will my acceptance be resended

I am a sophomore in college and am an engineering major. My classes were rough this semester. Bad professors, terrible subjects, etc. will my acceptance be resended if i do poorly this semester? My college is very dificult and I have not blown off the work. Help!!!
 
Are you failing? Or just not doing bad?
I would think that if you are at a competitive school with a major that WP wants badly (engineering) and at least passing you are going to be FAR ahead of most of the kids coming from High School. But I would at least send a letter explaining the purpose of the bad grades...
 
Along the same lines...if you are in college and this most recent semester you had to take a LOA for financial reasons, would that be enough to rescind an appointment?

Bad professors, terrible subjects? What "college" is going to be tougher than the USMA with it's stressful added environment?
You mentioned in your first post at this site a few days ago; that you accidentally "plowed through a batch of marijuana brownies" (your words) a few weeks ago an it was somebody else fault then too. All due respect and all but after your last derogatory PM to me and now this post I think you might want to do a little soul searching here and start becoming accountable for your actions and take some responsibility.

As to your question, Admissions told a group of us at a parent meeting a couple of weeks ago, that last year the head of admissions rescinded a few Appointments for "D" and under semester grades last year and would not accept "Senioritis".
 
maximus you have never taken a college course OBVIOUSLY. You sure are hot headed as well. You think you are going to do so much better than me but you are not.. You are going into this with the wrong attitude and will get torn appart by the upper classmen. YOU need to get your act together. :thumbdown:

Please be reminded that all appointments are conditional until you have taken the Oath of Office on R-Day.
If circumstances have indeed changed markedly for you since receiving your appointment it is your responsibility to contact your Regional Commander and discuss.
West Point is expecting your spring semester transcript.


LOA = leave of absence. again discuss with your Regional commander.

Afaral,

Maximus is a parent (as stated before) and I'm sure has taken many colleges. I find it insulting that you seem to think you know more about college than someone who has experienced it firsthand and earned a degree. You keep saying how you will do better than us and have a better mind-set...well I don't see any of us who are "wrong" by your standards who are lacking in the academic department or doing illegal things and a possibility of getting their appointment taken away now are we? :rolleyes:

I've noticed that you worry alot about other people's opinions and that your ultimate goal is to be popular and well-liked by others. You mention how others will be unpopular and how upperclassmen will not like you. You don't realize popularity by upperclassmen isn't what we aim for. We will get respect instead. :cool:

What I find sad is how we're brought down to the lowest common denominator in all your posts? Drugs, bad grades and now character. Again, I think it's time for a little soul searching here for you afaral

PS: I still question the seriousness of your presence here and, I doubt you'd say any of this to my face.
 
Hey just a thought here. If we know that arafal (whatever that means) is just here to make threads to try and get attention, then why do we even reply to them in the first place?

I think we all need to step back and just realize that there are and always will be people like arafal and accept that. Let's stop responding to these posts and ignore any future ones, because all they do is devolve into name calling and character bashing. :thumbdown:
 
My goodness rks, that was completely uncalled for and not funny at all. You, who have not spent one day as a midshipman, have no business judging cadets at other service academies.
Yes, there is a rivalry but that is all it is. I hope you check your attitude at the door before you get to I-Day or you won't make it through plebe summer.
Have a little respect for your brothers and sisters in arms.

I can dredge up plenty of misbehavior by midshipmen that has occurred in the recent past and this kid has not made it through R-Day yet.
You owe the entire Corps of Cadets and all Cadet Candidates who will report to R-Day this summer an apology.

Eh, no need to apologize to an entire Corps. I've heard worse, far worse, and without a winking smiley at the end.

You will however earn the right to make completely rediculous comments about sisters services...and maybe even make a couple of movies about it.
