He had a less than stellar career at Bama and Green Bay got him for a bargain as the 200th pick.
He almost went to Kentucky because he wanted to play for Coach Bryant. Chose Alabama because his girlfriend was going to Auburn (ugg) and he wanted to stay close to her.
