So I currently have astigmatism of 2.00 diopters. I understand that West Point (and all the other SA's) requires you to have 3.00 diopters or less of astigmatism, so I am trying to prevent my eyesight from worsening so quickly every year. Does anyone have experience with the Bates Method or Orlin Sorensen's "Rebuild Your Vision" program? I don't know if my belief that I can improve my eyesight is realistic or not, since there are some sources that say eyesight is 100% inherited and cannot be changed, while others say a consistent eye exercise program can correct poor eyesight. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

DoDMERB is a dark hole that no one here really understands especially all the intricacies of remedials and waivers with the exception of a rarefied few.

Your question is even more unique in that you are asking if a specific protocol works to protect/improve your vision

Your best bet is to consult an eye doctor and do your own research. Having done a limited Google search - it appears the process yields either remarkable results or is akin to witchcraft.
