BCT Boots

I think Belleville makes a women's boot. Not sure about all others. If you cannot find women's boots per say, the best bet is to subtract 2 sizes for a men's size boot. So, if you daughter wears say a size 8 women's shoe, that would be equal to a men's size 6 shoe. Usually you can find the size you are looking for. I know my DD doesn't wear the Belleville boots anymore, in fact I just sent her a new pair that does not go lower than a size 6 men's. She likes them and makes due by wearing two pairs of socks. It works for her. It has been 4 years since she wore the Belleville boots. Changes can occur. You might find looking for women's boots on the same site will be prefaced with a W in from of the style number. Try searching for women's boots specifically on the site you are looking on. You can always just wait until I-day, the boots issued do not require much break in. Unless your DD has problems with shoes/boots on a regular basis the issued boots should work out just fine.

Thank you! She's not an avid runner though on the track team - sprinter. The Appointee handbook said that if you're not used to running, they recommend getting the boots early.

Most experts recommend going 1/2 larger on running shoes. Should she do that with combat boots as well?

When I was on the Wellco site looking for the boots I posted before, I came acroos a women's version of the same combat boot. Here's the link.

Thank you! But there's no place to put in a size. I can't tell if that means they're out of stock, or they assume all women wear the same size.(jk)

For anyone interested:
I found another site with the Wellco boot at a much better price: http://www.mil-specspro.com/product...f-temperate-weather-goretex-combat-boot-s114m

Heads up to those of you who are ordering your boots online - I just received mine in the mail today. I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than my normal shoe (as the website recommended) and they were still too big. You might want to try 1 size smaller or perhaps even 1 1/2 smaller (for men's shoe sizes). I'm scaling down from a 12 shoe size to an 11 boot size.

OK I haven't been able to find an answer for this question yet: If we buy/break in our own pair of boots before I Day, will they still issue us two pairs or will they only issue us one? And will they let us use the previously bought and broken in pair during BCT if we get the right ones? Thanks

I believe they do issue you two pair regardless. In days gone by they used to credit you a pair if you brought a pair with you. I think this changed when the boots no longer required a lengthy break in period. Think of things in the degree of uniformity. They want everyone to match, down to the boots.

Prob already answered, I didn't read 3 pages of comments. Don't buy boots! You will be issues 2 pairs at in-processing regardless of how many pairs you already have with you. They break in very fast and if you really don't like the ones you are issued (since they are 20lb rocks) you can purchase your own pair after BCT. Of course you may not be able to wear the boots that you buy on your own until after recognition, this all depends on your TO in whichever squadron you are assigned to.

I've heard just the opposite - that if you buy your boots ahead of time, they only issue you 1 pair. In any case, I'm following the advice in the appointee handbook about practicing running in them. I've ordered the Wellco boots for DD, so will let everyone know if they run big, small, or are just right.

My daughter bought a pair and was only issued one pair. She purchased from the nearby base, did some hiking and running in them and got fitted with arch supports. To this day she has not worn her second pair and she will use her original boots to train BCT this summer. She has great attachment to those boots!
