Well, it's that time again. Another 5 weeks to the beginning of BCT. Can you feel the excitement in the air? it's time to welcome 2024.

To all the new Basics to be: I am willing to write letters to you during BCT that offer words of encouragement and a bit of humor (depending on your level of fun). I have done it in the past and have enjoyed myself and I think at least a few Basics have enjoyed themselves. I know at least one that I have stayed in touch with from 2005 who is now a Major.

To anyone else: If you want to volunteer to write, hopefully some Basics to be will post their names and box numbers and you can send them whatever.

Here's the deal:

1) If you want letters from this stranger, private message me on this board your BCT address and name and I will add you to my list.

2) If you are not a Basic to be but would like to volunteer, please add your intentions to volunteer to this forum in a separate part of this thread and see if any Basics to be will take you up on the offer.

(I'm reposting this as it is getting closer to IP day)

If I haven’t made 5 posts on here yet but I am still interested in getting in contact with you, is there any other way that I can message you? Thank you!

We don't recommend posting personal info on a public forum.

Besides, how hard is it to legitimately respond to some of the lively discussions on this site?

You must have some kind of opinion about bacon, no?

@AROTC-dad mentioned bacon meaning - go to the off-topic section of this forum and get involved in the wonderful dialogue about BACON, pretty soon you'll have 5 posts and you'll be able to use private message! (Also note you must be a member for I think over 7 days to PM)

FWIW....I love bacon!
Then the bacon thread is for you! Settle in with a glass of your favorite beverage, a handful of bacon, and start at page 1. The recipes are delish, the double entendres (as they relate to pig, pork, porcine etc) are witty and sharp. The memes delightful and the overall spirit of bacon lover camaraderie is like no other.

That makes sense, and true, it isn't hard to respond to these wonderful discussions.
