Bears Day and ACT vs SAT

DS visited on Bear's Day. He loved USCGA as everyone on this board would understand why.
He's a current Junior, graduating 2017. He has taken ACT. He has yet to sit for SAT because his graduation year, the test will change.
Are others having their student
take the current/will be old SAT? Or the new SAT in March 2016 ?( I think).
Or is ACT enough to take if scores are within range?

Any input is most welcome, this new SAT vs old SAT stuff is confusing.

DD is in the same boat. She's working the ACT right now, can't decide what to do about the SAT. Will follow this thread to see if anyone has any advice.

ACT is certainly enough and many kids never take the SAT. With that said some kids do better on one vs the other so if both are readily available in your town (not always the case) it wouldn't hurt.

As current juniors your son and daughter have plenty more opportunities to take these tests to get the best scores.
