Beast 1 PSG AMA Questions

What's the deal with name tapes? Should I purchase extra from the Exchange? Or is there a better place to buy them?
 
I personally believe that the name tapes that they issue during beast should be enough for all for years. They usually issue about 4-5 sets. I would get more name tapes for as for class uniform and white over grays. Yes you can always go to the PX or the Cadet store to order more name tapes after beast.
 
For the regular school year, what book bag do you use? Is it issued or do you buy your own?
 
I was issued two backpacks. A Nike black core squad backpack and also a black north face backpack. I use the issued backpacks because they are actually really nice and new, but you can always buy your own if you do not like it. The backpack has to be entirely black with no major design on it.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but my son (class of 2025) loves his issued North Face backpack. He uses it for everything. Frankly I want one of those bags myself.
 
Not sure what model North Face backpack they issue, but assume all of the backpacks come with that North Face white standard logo? Did you have to "black out" the North Face logo on the backpack? I am sure a fabric marker or Sharpie would do the job.
 
So I happened to see a DS at USMA on the R-day video, what do they do if the Cadet Cadre are the ones doing the training?
