How big is this knife?

Blade is just under the 4" max but it doesn't fold so total length is 7-8". Appreciate your thoughts.

1. Awful difficult to carry around. Folding knives fit nicely in pockets and cargo pockets.

2. A big knife strapped to his kit in the field will invite unwanted attention.
