Will BEAST be cut short this year?
Wishful thinking lol...those with appointments should focus boot break in and running..
I have been told that they are looking to cut beast by about 5 days. With that being said, nothing is certain right now. You'll find out when we all find out.
We were briefed by the Commandant that beast was to be shortened as well as Buckner (Yuk Summer). To be honest, I think its a good thing because the first week is just issue points, which could be condensed into a few days.
Good luck c/o 2017, see y'all soon!
If Beast is shortened, would that mean a later R-Day or an earlier A-day?
We were told that A-Day is staying the same (a change would affect all four classes) -- only R-Day may change (and that only affects one class and cadre).
How many days did he say?
No final decision. Likely start about 6-8 July rather than July 1.
Since this thread is about beast, I have a question. One of the forms on our portal stated we have to get another eye exam before this summer. Is a medical examination also given on site? In other words, when we show up will we have another eye exam sometime in July when we arrive?
You don't need a full eye exam if you don't wear glasses - just have your pediatrician or primary care physician do a simple eye exam when you go in for TB and blood type testing (and polio booster if you're over 18).
If you DO wear glasses, then Part II needs to be completed by an optometrist, but it can be done based on a current prescription w/ all lens and frame size information. Presumably, if you wear glasses, you have this info on file at your optometrist's office and can just bring in the form. WP needs this info to make your very attractive glasses for use this summer
