Hi All,

Still trying to wipe the smile off my face after hearing DS's voice on Saturday, but thought I might ask a bit of a poll question after hearing 2017's class motto...

In your opinion, what's the best AFA class motto you've heard?

My answer.... "Respect all, Fear none!"

I should have class pride, but we never really loved our class motto, we used HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP instead. I would say the best one is 2009's "09' our time" and let me throw in the worst....2011's "endless horizons"

My husband reminded our son of his class motto at son's wedding reception in his "Father of the Groom" toast thusly:

"Now son, as regards the honeymoon: I want you to remember your cadet class motto: NEVER FALTER! NEVER FAIL!"

'Bout brought down the house!

Nice . . . .

My class was "Strength Within," which I'd rate as decent. The thing is that classes are given their motto. They don't get to pick it.

If only for the irony, I'm fond of my own "best to be seen!"

Really? LAME (the fact that they don't pick their motts, not the actual motto, the motto is fine)! Who picks the motto? They do design their crest though, right?

My DS is USNA '16, but I think his motto is pretty cool - "Fortitudo in Sacrificio". At least I think that's his class motto...it's what's on their class crest. :)

I think the commandant with perhaps some consultation with the BCT cadet leadership. Needless to say, it was shared with us on the first or second day of basic. Correct about the crest. The class also chooses their exemplar, which sorta replaces or at least supplements the motto.
