Best Wishes SMCs Class of 16

We Citadel Knobs wave goodbye to life as we know it and matriculate on August 11th, I'm at the edge of my seat and looking foward to meeting any other fellow knobs on Saturday!!!!!!!

Good luck to all of you- just keep your head down but in the game- work hard, don't pretend you have the answers because you have read something on the internet:rolleyes: and just keep moving forward. the next 4 years are not supposed to be fun- it's supposed to test your ability to keep driving on even when things occassionally look dismal. So hang in there- don't listen to that inner voice (or your girlfirend or boy friend or mother) that tells you how much easier things are on the outside. It's all over in a relative flash and then you have a lifetime of friends and stories to look back on.

Rooks report on the 18th! It's gonna be my last time ever watching this week and my last time through the dog. Cheers to all new recruits at all SMCs and good luck. As for me, Death by powerpoint starting on monday.

I will be reporting to Norwich the 19th! With the rest of the rooks, but I am flying up to Vermont the 17th, gonna spend two days in Montpelier, get a few more things for school (ironing board, detergent, soaps, things you cant get on plane with haha)

Im not sure who reports the 18th Devil?

All my rook buddies and I are very excited

thanks for the good luck Bruno, and best wishes Norwichdad

See you there Devil :thumb:

The 2016 class of Frogs report on August 13. Can't wait to start my military career. Good luck to everyone. HOOAH

Good luck to all incoming knobs! As a class of 2015 cadet at El Cid I would recommend that you remember it is mostly a mental game:)
Best of luck and keep your heads up!

Texas A&M's fish class of 2016 reports August 15th. I'm a cadre member from the Class of 2015 and look forward to it!

Gig Em!

Good Luck to you too.

When do you report to your schools?

DS heads to Lexington tomorrow for early return guard. Prep time before the Rat mass invades in a week or so. Good luck to Parents and Rats, Rooks, etc..

I was admiring my sons HS senior picture.. My word.. He looks funny with hair.

Good luck with school.
I want to mention there is an incredibly awesome italian restaurant in Montepelier. I think it would be considered great in Manhatan.
Portions on smallside though so order appetizers. Lunch is not as crowded as dinner.

Also highly recommend if you like crepes

This is a very cool place. French Vermont influence. All items with fresh ingredients. Try the natural soda they have. My son loved eating there.

Both restaurants are reasonable in price

Thanks Norwichdad! I will definitely let my parents know as they wanted to go out to dinner as a family before I leave

TAMU Class of 16

My DD starts fish week tomorrow @ Texas A&M. Can't believe it is actually going to start after all the months and months of preparing/testing/training to get to this point! Good luck to everybody as you head out the door!

When last year's Corps Cadet Commander spoke to the Fish parents he told us it was a roller coaster ride; lots of ups and downs and it went by pretty guick. His Dad then spoke to us and reminded us that as parents we were in the trailing car, and that mostly, it was the kids ride. I found their remarks to be pretty much spot on.

I also found a great deal of information and indirect support by frequenting this site and reading what was going on not only at TAMU but also at the other SMC's. As with the advice and counsel referenced above, I found a great deal of wisdom in many of the posts and comments here.

I suspect your daughter and your family will find that the days are indeed long and years short. Best of luck to your daughter at TAMU and indeed to all of the Cadets at the sundry SMC's, federal academies, and ROTC programs across the country.

Oh yeah, as an individual not privileged enough to have attended TAMU I'm still learning, but "Gig 'Em !"

Again best wishes to all

Remember to hit the books first and foremost. Everything else does not matter if you don't perform academically.

Good Luck
