BFE after portal showing appointment

How long does it usually take for the BFE to appear after the offer of appointment shows up on the portal? Just curious. It has been almost a week and still no BFE.

Has the appointment been accepted? My DS received his about a week or so after he accepted his appointment.

DS accepted on Tuesday. I didn't realize you had to accept it prior to the BFE. He received a BFE from USMA without accepting.
 
Our sons's was roughly 6-14 days, not sure for sure. Never showed in informed delivery and it was placed on front porch, where the wind gently moved it to a shrub. :)

I don't know for sure if you have to accept the appointment to receive it, just that ours came about a few days after he did.
 
LOL ... I think it was in the Waiting Room that I predicted this thread just a few weeks ago.
Be patient !
 
I remember it being a few weeks, maybe even over a month for my son. Truthfully, it was a bit anti-climatic, since he already knew.
 
Yeah. It's really not a deal - getting the actual folder - compared to the WOW of seeing it online a week to 10 days beforehand.
 
Our BGO told us that back in the days before the instant gratification of the email, the MOC would actually show up at the school, pull the student out of class and down to the principal's office, and formally present the actual folder. I gotta admit, that would be much more impressive than than the email/portal system.
 
FWIW, DD received the email/portal notification on a Thursday evening, and received the BFE the following Thursday.
 
Is this for the certificate or the package with all the forms? I accepted mine last week and haven’t received the forms yet (I got the certificate about a week after my appointment though)
 
The certificate, in the blue folder is the "BFE".

After accepting, there are typically three (3) forms that you will need to fill out first.
They show up in your "Portal" and are;

1. Police Record Check Form
2. Body Alteration Form
3. Proof Of Citizenship Form

The package with all the forms is the Permit To Report (PTR) package. That comes later.
It typically contains;

Permit to Report letter (Which you do not mail, but bring with you on the day you report)
Travel Form
Agreement to Serve Form
Marriage/Dependents Declaration Form
Drug/Alcohol Abuse Statement of Understanding Form
Group Life Insurance Certificate
Record of Emergency Data
SF-86
Consent to Personal Info Disclosure Form
Personal Swearing-In Form
Pay and Banking Application
Notice regarding Maintenance of Private Medical Insurance
Immunization Record
Patient Registration Form
Spectacle Prescription Information Form
Dental Info (no action required)
Academic Background Questionnaire
ACE Loan Information
Social Media Profile Etiquette Form
Uniform Measurements Form
NCAA Eligibility Form
Sponsor Questionnaire
Alumni Association Form(s)
News Release Form

I intercepted my son's... so, he has not seen it - doesn't even realize something came for him! :) I contacted his ALO (as he is USAFA Prep) and his ALO will be presenting the certificate at Honors night at his school... his ALO and I are working with the counseling department to ensure he is on the agenda to participate... I felt that would provide another layer of excitement and recognition for him.
 
My son is eager to get the Permit to Report instructions but was thrilled with his long-awaited BFE which arrived today (just over a week from portal change) which just had the certificate as mentioned above. Does anyone know when he might expect the PTR?
