DS received his appointment in January, and immediately accepted. I am sure he doesn't care now, but it would be nice to have something other than the letter printed out from the portal. Have people received BFEs this year? I know it always is weird timing, and especially with admissions WFH, but if there is something to be done, I would kick myself.

For example, I messed up the prescriptions for DS's wisdom tooth extraction, so he had to heal without Vicodin. He is actually happy to have NOT taken them, but his recovery has not been stellar, so I feel bad. And the doctor called it in when DS was post-op dead to the world, so it wasn't his responsibility to take care of.

I have not received a BFE but just accepted my appointment. I am sure others will chime in.
 
DD has not received the BFE yet, she is yet to hit the ‘button’.

I don't think USAFA has sent a physical package for a while, could be wrong though.

Agree. I thought I read somewhere they do not send out a BFE anymore....? I hope I am wrong. I'd like one.

They sent them out last year. I've heard that the pandemic has delayed them and they expect them to be mailed out in April.
 
Do they send out those goodies once offer accepted? We are part of co2025 parents group on fb and we did see kids with BFE.
 
I had tons of new forms and information on my portal soon after accepting, nothing in the mail.
 
The BFE USAFA sends out is just a keepsake. It is a leather(ish) blue folder with the AF logo on it that contains your formal certificate of appointment. It doesn't contain any important onboarding paperwork or information. All of that is in your portal. When they need to give you more info, like your orders to report with your reporting time, or your assigned BCT squadron, that too, will come to you through your portal.

All I’ve seen so far on there are print outs of the appointment letter and AF gear that looks like it was purchased on their own. Maybe I missed something though 🤔 DS hasn’t received BFE it would be cool if he did!

Everything you need for in processing will be on the portal once you accept your appointment. BFEs went the way of the dinosaurs years ago.

USAFA will mail an appointee certificate in April for presentation at award ceremonies and suitable for framing. The Director of Admissions is doing wrist exercises to prepare to sign them.
