I have my BGO Interview scheduled for Wednesday, the last of my application areas needed. However she said since I'm interested sports, someone else needs to interview me. Is this common? I haven't really been pursued by the school for sports, and its seems since a majority of the candidates played sports in high school, that this process would expand to many candidates. Any opinions?

Your BGO is not permitted to interview a candidate if they are being recruited for football, basketball, or women's basketball.
Any sport other than these that your participate in or are interested in participating in at USNA is not a factor and should be interviewed by your assigned BGO.

Bum Gouge from your BGO

I agree with '82. I am not sure why your BGO has told you another person must interview you. Who else would conduct a BGO Interview?

As stated above, BGOs are requested to not interview candidates being officially recruited by NAAA for Football, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball. The interview is covered by the corresponding coach. All other recruited athletes need to be interviewed by their BGO under specific guidance from CGO on interview content.

Discuss this with your BGO. If they still will not interview you contact your RD. Be pro-active about this since it is your application and not your BGO's application.

Thank you for the replies. I was very confused by what my BGO said. I will be proactive since I need to get this in to have my app completed. Thanks!

I think at this point in the game, the best advice is to contact your regional rep. and explain the situation.
