Hello,
Does anyone know if the AROTC awards scholarship even the medical part from DODMERB is not complete yet/ I have seen some posting here that some applicants received scholarship and then medically disqualified afterwards. My son's file read like this at the AROTC application status system:

You are currently an active eligible applicant for an Army ROTC Scholarship. If all of the items below have been received then we have everything in order for your file to be reviewed by the Board.

Transcript: Received
SAT/ACT Scores: Received
Interview: Received
Physical Fitness Test: Received
School Choice: Received
Academic Major: Received
Medical: Not Received
Cadet Background and Experience Form: Received

You have been selected for an interview. Please contact the Professor of Military Science at the school of your choice.

Thank you for using the Army ROTC Scholarship Application Status System. If You have any questions regarding your selection status, please use the "Contact Us" button provided in the menu bar located on the left of this page to submit your questions.

Part of his medical is still pending because of his remedial. We we're told that his file is complete and will be consider for review. Just curious as we are running out of time for the last Board Review meets. :-(

Thank you for any insights.

People misunderstand the DoDMERB process. According to AROTC he has had the physical. DoDMERB DQ'd him and now it is up to the Army to accept him with a waiver or not. That is all DoDMERB does, they do not waive.

For you the answer is yes, he can get the scholarship, but it will be conditional on the results.

AROTC right now is working in tandem with the medical issue while the board will score the scholarship application. They are 2 different routes that are independent of each other regarding their results.

Thank you for the reply PIMA. I follow your thread here and all your insights are very helpful. Please wish my son Luck for his remedial. He is the only one left to follow his dad's footsteps. We would like to continue the tradition in the family.

Thanks again.
