Was wondering if anyone recommended reading any books prior to R-Day? Doesn't matter whether it's specifically about the Academy, Military/Army in general, History, Leadership, etc. Just wondering everyone's thoughts. Thanks

The Unforgiving Minute. Great book about the author's time at West Point and later as an Army Ranger.

Some already mentioned. In no order.

Starship Troopers
Read about Dick Winters. Truly a great leader who set the example.
We Were Soldiers Once and Young
This Kind of War
A Soldier's Story
On Strategy

I highly recommend "Moms Guide to Surviving WP"

I would recommend anything about WP history. I think this subject is overlooked. You'll have more of appreciation of the importance of being part of the "Long Gray Line". There is a ton of historical value, such as: In the Old Cadet Chapel, on the second floor is Benedict Arnolds plaque that has been scraped clean of his name at some point that no ones knows who did it.

My son received American Ulysses: A Life of Ulysses S. Grant as a gift and he enjoyed it.

We watched West Point - the First 200 Years recently and it was really interesting.
