Considering the release of the new admissible packet (and boot memo) on April 1st, I was curious what brands and specific boots people will be buy to conform to the specifications depicted below.

“The boots must be between 8 to 10 inches in height and made of coyote-colored, flesh-side out cattlehide leather with a plain toe and a soling
system matching the color of the coyote upper materials. Rubber and polyether polyurethane are the only outsole materials that are authorized. The soling materials will not exceed 2 inches in height when measured from the bottom of the outsole and will not extend up the back of the heel or boot or over the top of the toe. The exterior of the boot upper will not contain mesh but will be constructed of all leather or a combination of leather and non-mesh fabric. The combat leather boot is made of leather with a deep lug tread sole made of vulcanized rubber, a removable cushioned insert, a closed-loop speed lace system, and a leather padded collar. A vulcanized rubber sole is the only outsole material that currently meets the need for durability and traction on surfaces”

There are quite a few caveats as to what qualifies for CBT and I would appreciate any input on the specific boots anyone is buying.

I got the garmont t8 bifida. They were highly recommended by a bunch of cadets.

Our DS has been wearing the Garmont t8 bifida while at MMI for the past year. He has worn these through all sorts of conditions including rucking and has found them to be a very good and comfortable boot. I would recommend purchasing several sizes at the same time and try them on, return the boots not chosen. Heck, at one time I had purchased over 2k in boots between one son at MMI as an AOG prep scholar and the other a Marine PLC cadet in order for them to try them on. We of course sent all of them back but the two they chose. Read the return policies clearly. We purchased here: https://tacticalgear.com/garmont-t8-bifida~1

Do you have an opinion of the Garmont T8 NFS Lightweight boot? It looks similar to the Garmont T8 Bifida, just a little more lightweight, hence the name. I really have no issue with either boot, I'm just looking at options.

I just sent a pair of Garmont T8 NFS 670 to my son, an Active Duty Army O-3. He tore up his current pair in a relatively short period of time, doing things much more intense than you'll be doing at USMA. I know nothing about the qualities of the boot, but the fact that he requested the exact same boot must say something about the quality and comfort. I think he's been wearing them for years.

I appreciate the insight! I may have to order a few pairs and return the ones that won't work. Thanks for the help.

Do the boots have to be purchased from the retailers referred to in the memo, or can they be bought from any retailer of our choice?

I have a buddy who completed ranger school last year and he swears by the Garmont T8 NFS 670, those are the ones that I got.
