Hello, I was just wondering if one can get their boots at the appointee tours or if there is another event in which one could purchase them at?

I'm assuming you want to break them in. I wouldn't do anything out of the ordinary. Have you seen the video of "Box Boy"? You want a cool nickname, not "Boot Boy" for the rest of your time at the academy. Maybe I'm over-thinking it.

We weren't given the option at Monday's appointee tour. We were told you'll be given everything you need once you arrive. Your packet will tell you what to bring. Don't bring anything not on the list. Optional items on the list are highly recommended.

ah what I mean is I want to get the boots I need to break them in, and I have seen that many others do this, and was just wondering if I can purchase the boots I would be getting at bct before hand, during the tour, at the store on campus

From what others said, you will not be given that opportunity during the appointee tour. When my daughter entered, the appointee packet included the specs for boots and we went to the closest base exchange and bought hers, which she broke in before BCT. She's glad she had them early because she got them fitted with supportive inserts. Even with the arch supports and breaking them in, her feet killed her during the first few days of BCT. But she was glad she had them early. But up to you...many will tell you don't worry about it.

I understand the boots now are much easier on the feet than in years past. My DS had no issues at all with them right out of the box. Later he bought the lightweight Nikes as soon as cadre allowed.

We sent him off with a verion of this pocket kit. Though he never needed it, I can tell you the wipes and molesin are awesome for blisters. For $8 hard to go wrong.

My kid took a bunch of pre-cut moleskin pieces. She said they really helped. Pre-cut because they don't let you have scissors!
