Boots for bct?

I placed an order for a pair of Bellville 690's from a company called Chewbacca. Ordered them on a Monday and they arrived by Friday. I paid for "expedited shipping" and they ended up arriving in 4 days but were actually shipped "ground service" UPS. The shoes were dropped shipped from the manufacturers' location - rather than the location in Irving, TX (which is where we live). If you're needing boots as soon as possible, I would order them directly from Belleville and pay the expedited shipping costs if you can but make sure you are informed before placing your order as to what is their expedited shipping time arrival.

Cadre here. Bring your own boots. We will allow you to wear them.

The specifications listed in the handbook stated that the boots had to be waterproof. I've researched that Nike SFBs are not waterproof, but other appointees have stated that they are bringing them. Will they still be allowed even through they don't meet the specifications given?

Also, would it be better to wear the boots during I-Day, or just carry them with your belongings?

Wear during I day. At least that is what we were told to inform the Basics when they arrive. Yes, water proof would be the best, especially with all the rain. But many people will own and wear Nike boots throughout their time at the Academy.

So that means that a basic wearing Nike boots on I-Day will not have them taken away?

Sorry for asking again, I just want to be really sure that I can get these boots and wear them since they are significantly lighter than the Belleville ones. As to the remarks about the Nike boots being torn apart in Jacks, I was thinking that I could just wear the waterproof ones issued and save the Nike's for the academic year.

If your worried about them getting torn up, don't buy them. Wait for your first pay check of the academic year.

There is a review on YouTube with a guy who wore them in Iraq for about a year. They were the Nike SFB's in the sand color. They were worn out but not demolished. I would imagine they would survive Jack's Valley and when they are really messed up, you will have the other pair they issue you. Either way, having a pair of light weight Nikes and a pair of the issued boots allows you to choose when to wear them. Depending on the training you will be doing and the weather. Hope this helps.
