Does anyone know what boot USNA uses? Also, would you advise getting a pair and breaking them in before I-Day? I know USAFA recommends buying boots and breaking them in before arriving.
It changes from year to year but it will probably be a bates jungle boot of some sort, don't waste you're time or money getting a pair and breaking it in ahead of time.
no u'll be issued boots when u get here so no need for the extra gear..the NWU has been issued to the rising 1/c and will probably be issued to the rest of the brigade sometime in the near future
My understading is that NWU is required for Detailers for Plebe Summer and has been issued. Some Detailers were on leave and missed issue but they will have to have new NWU when they get back. Another SNAFU and they will be charged for new issue whether they get them or not and then will be reqired to have them. Those on leave will have to make a big "*****" to get their issued NWU before Plebe Summer. Go with the flow
You don't need broken in boots for the Naval Academy. Your running will be done in "trainers" "sneakers". Break in a pair of "mostly white" and use them over the summer. Over the Summer "Run, Run, Run" That is the hardest thing during Plebe Summer. Especially if you are not used to high humidity and high temperature.
