Boots to Ruck

Hello all,

I'm a AROTC MS2. Last year I purchased some off-brand combat boots at my local outdoors store. They were actually pretty great, but my battalion does a lot of rucking and they fell apart in less than a year. Since there is no-where near me that I can purchase a new pair, I have to try ordering them online. I am looking for a pair that is durable, waterproof, and has enough traction to be used in ice and snow. Also, does anyone know of some brands or models of boots that have a wide-toe box, but more-narrow arch/heal? (I know running shoes don't really translate to the way boots fit, but Saucony/New Balance running shoes are designed to fit like this if that helps to relate).

Sorry that I'm being very specific. If you have any suggestions anything I described, please let me know!

My kids are out of ROTC now so I'm not 100% sure what's approved vs not approved nowadays but my kids used to love the Nike boots. My daughter later moved on to Rocky's. I have no idea what they are wearing currently. There are many online places to get boots though. [EDIT - removed links] Many, many choices out there.

My son lives in New Balance running shoes land. Best fit, comfort and stability. If That describes you, Rocky S2V is your model. His godparents (retired USAF) wouldn't even send him to Norwich Rook Week in any thing else they love them so.

Belleville is a proven brand. Numerous models for different purposes. They are one of the recommendations for USMA that we use. Widely available online.

My son is just starting, but we were strongly advised to start with Nike. <REMOVED TEXT>

I just want to remind everyone that commercial links are not allowed. See the forum rules which mention this. Thanks!
