boots!?!?

Exchanges are open on Saturdays. In case your cadet isn't willing to go with you then just get your parents to take you/go yourself when your visit is over. There's a good chance they will have all of them, especially considering you're at WP.

When I did the overnight I had the letter in hand and my parents drove me to the PX. The lady working there was very helpful. There is actually another low quarter that is approved for us to wear; it is quite a bit lighter than the one in the letter.

What type of socks are worn with the low quarters? The thin black nylon socks? We are going this weekend to get the boots, low quarters and running shoes and I want to make sure we have the right socks for all the shoes!

Yep. Nylon dress socks.

Thanks, Scout! Now, are these black nylon socks the same ones that people have suggested wearing under the green socks with the boots?

For all of you interested in buying boots at the West Point PX, the two models available there as of yesterday are the belleville 310 and the bates M8. The khyber mountain hybrids were not being sold.

ScoutPilot, I believe the Bates shoes are a new addition this year.

Cheaper is gooder!

Glad to hear it. You can't find leather low quarters anywhere (though I have no use for them anymore, it's nice to know that I can find them if I switch back to shoes in dress uniform)

Does anyone know if the belleville 310 can be specially ordered for a smaller size? I'm having trouble finding a 5 or 6 and I will be fitted for a perfect size sunday.

Thanks Jake! I was also wondering if the low quarters could be ordered online. I believe the nearest base to me is 3 1/2 hours away

Bellevilles are usually sized smaller than your normal shoe, usually one size smaller. So if you wear a 5 or 6, you may want to try a 4-5

I went to purchase my boots today, but they didn't have my size. (I'm a 7 in women's sizes, so it turns out I'm like a 4-4.5 and the smallest they had in stock was 5)
anyway, the lady helping me try on my boots didn't really know much about how it should fit....so i'm hoping i can find some sound advice here?
should the boots be on the slightly looser or slightly tighter side?
When I went to get my running shoes properly fitted, the guy helping me said your feet get swollen when you're working out, so it's good to buy a 1/2 size bigger than your actual feet. But I don't know if the same advice applies to boots.
Also, should I buy and bring extra socks? (Even though they cost about $10 a pair -_- )

The lady at West Point's PX said your heel should not slip and you should be able to wiggle your toes. This was for the boots. I hope this helps.

How do the sizes for the low quarters vary from a normal shoe size? If anyone knows it would be extremely helpful

I bought size 13 Bates low quarters (same size as I wear for running shoes, though I wear size 12 boots) because it gives me *a little* extra room in them. This allows me to wear athletic socks under the dress socks, giving a great fit and lending some extra cushion. No blisters yet! :thumb:
