Hey gang. I'm taking my son's senior photos for him. I have this smart idea to include shoes in a photo...the cowboy boots he wears every day, his football cleats, wrestling shoes, track cleats, and finally, to indicate the future, combat boots. Would I be able to get something reasonably close to what he will be issued at a surplus store or another retailer? He starts AROTC on a national scholarship in August. THANKS!

You can. You also might consider that he could fail/quit/get hurt and those pictures might be a bit odd.

There are tons of places online that sell boots that will be either identical or very close to what he is issued. Amazon has several available, including through Prime. That should make it easy to return if you want to get your money back.

You could also ask around for anyone you know who might let you borrow boots for a photo (friends, local recruiting office etc). Even old beat up ones would add some "flavor" to the picture. Sounds like a cool photo idea!

Congratulations on the scholarship, and don't forget to include the flip-flops he'll be wearing at least five days out of seven as a college student.

Just a thought. I'm sure he'll appreciate the photos.

I thought this thread was going to be about the Rudyard Kipling poem that was played over...and over...and over again during SERE school...:)
