Boys State Canceled

My DS was excited to attend Boys State this summer but not surprisingly just learned that our state has canceled it. :-(

Assume other states are doing so as well? Guess this may be the year that few/no candidates will have Boys State on their applications.

I'm not sure if this applies to all service academies, but at least one of them has stated if you were selected to go to Boys State you could still add it to your application.

Our state's Boys State has cancelled. Girls State is still scheduled. My DD was accepted to GS. If it does get cancelled, I would think she would still qualify as a GS Attendee.

My DS was also scheduled to attend Boys State. He is really disappointed that it is now canceled for June. Any recommendations if he should still put it on his application that he was planning on attending?

If you were selected to go to Boys/Girls State and it's canceled, still put it on your application. It's a BIG item and the SA's will all know the reasons you didn't attend. It's a big point getter...put it down!

Think of the positive... there may be no one to trump them for B/G Nation this year... all that were selected could be on the same playing field there.
